What is Soft Roof Washing?
Soft roof washing is a no pressure way of cleaning your roof. We never use a pressure washer on your roof. We only use ARMA (Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association) approved methods to clean your roof. ARMA Bulletin.pdf
Why not pressure wash my roof?
Pressure washing your roof will harm your roof but may also void any warranty that you may have on your roof.
What are those ugly black stains and streaks on my roof?
Those stains and streaks are a type of algae called Gloeocapsa Magma that thrives in the shady or north side of your roof. This has become more of a problem in the last few decades.
Why has this algae become more of a problem?
Shingle-makers now use limestone filler in the manufacturing process of roof shingles. This filler is a food for this destructive algae.
What is that green stuff on my roof?
- That stuff may be lichen which is a combination of algae and fungus, light green in color, and acidic.
- It may be moss which is dark green, thicker, and holds more water.
- These algae, moss and lichens will grow up into the gullets (slots) of your shingles making your roof prone to wind damage and leaks.
- These organic matters act like sponges keeping your roof damp which in time will lead to rot.
Will cleaning my roof harm it?
No. We clean your roof using the guidelines by ARMA (Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association). Cleaning your roof with a safe soft roof washing will prolong the life of your roof by removing the fungus that is eating away at it.
What type of products do you use?
We use only the highest quality, environmentally-friendly soaps and moldicide to clean and destroy the growth of any algae and fungus on your roof and siding.
Do you use high pressure to clean my siding?
No. There is no need to use a high pressure when cleaning your siding. We use a low pressure technique with soaps, fungicide, wax and hot water to effectively clean your home.
